Lakes & Old Langho
Having been invited to help celebrate Mark Grimshaw's (a friend from uni) 30th birthday down near Blackburn we took the opportunity to add on a stop-off in The Lakes on the way down 🙂 Thwarted slightly by the weather...heavy snow meant we had to take a long detour back via the motorway to get to Ambleside where we were staying in the lovely Lakes Lodge on the main street out of the town. That evening we had a little pub crawl in Ambleside and a really nice meal in Dodd's Restaurant before wandering back to the hotel via the lakefront. The next day we had look around the shops in Ambleside before getting out for a short walk up Orrest Head in Windermere, and then headed down to meet Emily & John in Old Langho. We had a great evening catching up with uni mates at Mark's birthday party, and then set off after breakfast the next day to make the scenic drive back up to Edinburgh.
