Easter Weekend – The Lakes!!
Keeping up our family tradition of heading to the Lake District in Easter, this year we stayed in a great self-catering property on the Rowley Estate just inbetween the small villages of Greystoke and Blencow, based in the north of the Lakes. We had a lovely time away.....catching up/relaxing/walking/eating/drinking with Mum, Jam and Don (plus 5 months worth of bump!), Lass and Izzy. On our drive down Glenn and I detoured to Threlkeld to hike up Blencathra via Hall's Edge (http://www.lakedistrictwalks.com/blenhf.html) which was my first ridge-walking experience! I think I need a bit more practice to stop my legs turning to jelly, but the views were well worth the mid-hike panic! While we were with the gang we also got a good walk in round Derwentwater from Keswick with Mum and Lass and a hike up Great Dodd with everyone apart from Don who very rightly had her feet up back at the house! The weather was great and we even managed to get BBQ in while we were there!
