Last Saturday (5th Nov) we had a lovely (but cold!) wander around Archallagan plantation - I don't think I've ever been there before! We bumped into Gerry & Richard in the car park who'd just been out with a group for 2 hours on their electric bikes. Glenn had a quick spin on Richard's bike and then we left them and headed into the plantation. We walked around the edge of the plantation and then headed off on a couple of smaller paths to explore the bike paths and adventure courses that have been created. We also managed to find the small lake and got lost in the maze 🙂
On Sunday we decided to take the camper van out for a drive, with the initial plan of going to Ramsey. However, after popping in to see Margie (who needed a sofa picking up from near Peel), we decided to head west instead, and planned to do Ramsey another day when the shops will be open. It was pretty cold and windy in Peel, however walking up the hill we had the wind behind us which helped! We walked up to Corrin's tower and then continued over before swinging a left to take us back down to the road just past The Raggatt, and then we walked back into Peel along the road. It was still pretty cold out so instead of ice cream we bought a portion of chips and sat and ate them in the van 🙂 We then drove to a huge house on the Peel coast road that was previously owned by Robin Gibb, where the current owner was getting rid of furniture. In the end the sofa didn't actually fit into the van (!!) so we drove home sofa-less, parked the van back at Ellenbrook and then drove back to the flat for a chilled evening.
Chilly autumnal November walks :-)
We've managed to get out for a few new walks over the past couple of weeks, including a short stroll around Chibbanagh plantation and a longer loop from Clypse reservoir to Conrhenny plantation and back (only took one photo!).
