White Coomb – Corbett – 821 m (2693 ft)
Went for a walk with cousin Davey this morning up a mountain called White Coomb (means Hill of the white valley). It is in the Scottish Borders near Moffatt. Munro Magic describe it as:
"White Coomb is the highest point on a long branching ridge that runs from Carlavin Hill (736m), overlooking Talla Reservoir in the north, via Molls Cleuch Dod (785m), Firthybrig Head (763m), Firthhope Rig (800m) and White Coomb (Corbett) to Carrifran Gans (757m) in the south. The southern region of this long hill is very craggy in places."
We started at The Grey Mare's Tail (waterfall) car park on the A708 road from Moffat to Selkirk, from where a path leads through crags to the summit. It was pretty steep! We went up the North slope so was still a few feet of snow as soon as we got pretty high. Total ascent was 750 m with the summit being on a flat grassy plain.
