Scotland Vs New Zealand Rugby!
After a busy week getting my first assignment handed in, getting assessed while taking a careers session in a school and Glenn taking a trip home to the IOM for business meetings, Sunday 11 November saw the All Blacks take on Scotland in the rugby Autumn Internationals at Murrayfield. On the day we joined the crowds of people walking out to Murrayfield from town, passing numerous merchandise stands, Scottish flags and bagpipe players along the way. A plus of being a student meant I got a ticket for £10, the potential downside being that our seats were really high up and at the back of the stand....however when we arrived we realised the view from where we were was still great and we could see everything going on. The atmosphere in the stadium was brilliant (over 67,000 supporters!), especially during the 'Flower of Scotland' anthem and during the All Blacks' Haka. At half time Scotland's Olympians (including Chris Hoy) walked round the pitch and chatted to fans..it was all very Scottish and patriotic!
I don't think there was much hope at all that Scotland might have won, but they put up a valiant effort and the crowd was behind them the whole game. It really was a brill experience and another 'must do' ticked off the list 🙂
