June 2016
June has been a bit of a whirlwind month... leaving Edders and getting settled back on the rock, catching up with friends and family, Glenn starting work, me getting stuck into my business plans and getting through all the admin that comes with moving house (updating insurance, tax, gas, electricity, council tax, getting a new SIM card, registering with Dr, dentist etc etc etc). However, the weather has been (mostly) really pleasant which has been lovely, and despite the long to-do list, both Glenn and I are feeling happy we made the right decision moving back (no ‘Oh my god, what are we doing here?!?!’ moments yet!).
To help kickstart my business plans I enrolled on the DED Micro Business Start up Scheme (a training scheme that runs monthly, supporting new businesses with advice and potential financial support), so on 20-22 June I headed to St John’s Mill for the ‘training’ element of the course. It’s been really good to meet like-minded people also looking at setting up their business, and the course content has also been really useful giving me guidance on the practicalities of starting a business. We have to complete a business plan before we next meet in July, so that will be good to focus my mind and give me a bit of structure in terms of what I should be focusing on initially.
I haven’t taken as many photos as I would have liked this month however here’s a little selection from June shenanigans 🙂
