Port Grenaugh Walk – 12th June 2020
Second walk with mum 🙂 This was a longer one...we parked at the Whitestone pub in Ballasalla and made our way up the road towards Douglas, going on to a footpath lane opposite the old Whitestone Garage. There were some roadworks going on (making the bypass) blocking our way but we managed to sneak past 😉
We then headed past the airport boundary and took a footpath on our left taking an inner path through farmland and up a lane leading to Santon Church. We then walked along the road from Santon Church towards Douglas before taking the footpath towards the coast and did the 'peacock walk' past Aragon House down to the beach, turning right to pick up the coastal footpath and head south. After walking a little longer we stopped at a small beach for our lunch, and then continued all the way to Derbyhaven, then followed the road to KWC before turning to go through the college grounds and out on the road the other side. We then took the footpath alongside the old car sales garage which ran alongside Poulsom Park and then picked up the Millennium Way path which took us back into the outskirts of Ballasalla. It was just a short walk back to the car (which we were ready to see by this point!). Think this was about a 12 miler and took us about 5 hours including stops.
