Weekend 17/18 June
It's been a busy weekend for both Glenn and I, with Glenn heading off to Kent for Max & Zoe's wedding and me staying on the rock enjoying the sun and a surprise baby shower!
Glenn left on Friday morning (with Margie and Phil), flying to Gatwick and then hiring a car to get them down to Kent. They stayed at Max & Zoe's on the Friday night and then on to the wedding accommodation for 2 nights. Ho & Polly joined them on Saturday for the big day which looked perfect. The weather was great and the venue and finishing touches looked brill....big congrats to the new Mr & Mrs Jamieson!!! Thanks for Polly for keeping me updated with photos and messages throughout the day 🙂
On the Saturday morning Mum, Donna and I attended an 'Essential First Aid' course at St John's Ambulance in Douglas. Although I was looking for something geared more at first aid specifically for babies/toddlers it was a good session and I feel more confident knowing what to do now as I'd never attended any first aid training previously. It was another lovely sunny day, and after being dropped back at home I got a few food/drink bits ready for the girls who were all coming round. Little did I know they had planned a surprise baby shower for me!! I had a brill affy, we sat out in the garden chatting, playing baby-related games and eating party food 🙂 Thanks girls!!
Sunday was a chill day for me after the fun and excitement of Saturday...sat in the sun, reading and generally relaxing! Over in Kent the Jamieson's were enjoying a BBQ in the sun - although I think there was a fair bit drunk on Saturday there weren't any reports of sore heads today! On Monday Glenn, Margie and Phil made their way back to the airport via a lunch stop in Sevenoaks. After a slight flight delay they were back on the rock at 9pm. A good weekend had by all! 🙂
