Chester Weekend

Been a busy couple of weeks work and play wise - last weekend Glenn and I headed down to Chester by train for me to attend Sel & Martin's wedding, and for us both to meet up with the Jamieson crew. Friday night was spent in town with Hoey, Polly, Max, Zoe, Phil and Margie at Piccolino's to celebrate Hoey and Polly's recent engagement:-) On Saturday afternoon I headed off to the wedding which was held at Rowton Hall Hotel. It was brill catching up with uni mates, and the wedding was lovely too! Big thanks to Donna for lending me her gorgeous dress:-) I'm reliably told that the Jamieson's spent the day and night in a pub. Sunday was miserable weather wise, so we donned our raincoats and drove out to where loads of narrow boats were moored and had a good nosey round. We then sampled the delights of the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm (I went for 1 scoop lemon meringue and 1 scoop sticky toffee...yummy!) before heading back to Chester and for Glenn and I back on the train up to Edinburgh. It was such a nice weekend getting away from uni work and seeing Glenn's family and my friends 🙂 So...back in Edinburgh and the day after our travels I had a school placement to sample careers provisions within school for an upcoming essay. I was assigned to George Watson's which is a huge private school just up the road. For three days I listened and chatted to careers and teaching staff at the school and sat in on classes to get an idea of life at the school. It was very interesting and felt a bit like 'seeing how the other half live'...I attended the school assembly where two girls were talking to the school about the work experience they'd done over the summer. Bearing in mind my 5 days work experience was spent in a primary school in Douglas, these girls had just spent 8 weeks in a medical hospital in India! By Wednesday my brain was mushed with information overload, but since then I have been locked in the flat working away on the assignment due in next week so that I can have some free time at the weekend to spend with Mum who's coming up with Lass in the campervan....can't wait!! 🙂
